It’s hard to keep track of Angelina Jolie. Last month, she was in Cambodia to premiere her latest film, First They Killed My Father. After returning home to Los Angeles, the mother of six jetted off to London earlier this week, where on a visit to the bookstore Waterstones she gave the librarian look some Casablanca-era glamour.
Jolie’s style errs on the side of minimal and simple, and yesterday’s ensemble didn’t deviate from the norm. However, she did upgrade the simple coatdress with a nod toward Ingrid Bergman’s iconic trench. Jolie stuck with shades of snow for a light approach to bookish dressing. A tonally coordinated, feminine frock was the ideal complement to her Bottega Veneta double-breasted wool coat, but it was the little bits that elevated the outfit to red carpet heights. There were retro-inspired shades and diamond stud earrings up top, while Kurt Geiger’s beige patent stilettos grounded the look for a leg-lengthening effect.
